10 Years of Kindernest Anny Frank

Our Kinderest Anny Frank celebrated its 10th anniversary this spring. We are very proud of our well-coordinated team, which has grown together over the years and the excellent reputation that precedes our facility thanks to the positive feedback from our parents.

In consultation with our board of directors, we will be lowering the childcare fees for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year on a trial basis for the first time.

With this decision, we are pursuing several goals.

First, we hope to optimize capacity utilization by attracting more families through more attractive fees, thereby making better use of available capacity.

At the same time, this trial adjustment serves to ensure the security and stability of our staff. Better capacity utilization contributes to long-term planning security for our team. Furthermore, easing the financial burden on families is another important priority for us, as we know that childcare costs play a major role in everyday life.

We also aim to strengthen our community. Experience over the past few years has repeatedly shown that more filled spots significantly enrich interaction and social connections not only among the children but also among the families.

Last but not least, we see this as an opportunity to increase the appeal of our childcare center and to test new models so that we can better tailor our services to the needs of families in the future.

It is important to us to emphasize that the quality of our care will, of course, remain as high as ever.

The new fees will apply from September 1st, 2026 through August 31, 2027.

Rooms

Kinderest Anny Frank - like a second home

Our children's nest offers 4 rooms suitable for small children, providing plenty of space for play and development. 

Our Krippe rooms

• 4 groups for 12 toddlers each up to a maximum of 3 years old
   
• Sleeping room in each group for relaxation and rest
• Bathroom Each group has its own bathroom with changing table, toilets, washbasin and storage space for personal changes of clothes
• Kitchenette for preparing breakfast, snacks and much more

Room for exercise

• Gym with approx. 25m2, the children have plenty of opportunities to try out their motor skills with a climbing wall, obstacle course and lots of other equipment
• Large terrace and garden Each group has direct access to the terrace and garden
• Large aisle area for bobby cars

• Parents' room where parents can wait with a drink during the settling-in phase
• Staff room for team meetings
• Baby carriage room offers enough space to park baby carriages during the day
• Management office 
• Large entrance area for notices, shoe storage and exchange boxes

We love our Garden!

Our spacious garden not only offers a great change in the KiTA's daily routine, but also serves as a unique location for our celebrations. Whether it's a lantern parade, an Easter hunt or our annual summer party with all the parents. The garden is always a highlight.

Food

Fresh Lunch from our KiTa-Catering

Like all our AWO facilities, our Kinderest Anny Frank is supplied with freshly cooked meals every day by our in-house KiTa catering service. There is also the option of a vegetarian diet and each child can decide for themselves what they would like on their plate or how much they would like to eat. There is always a choice of fruit and/or natural yoghurt for dessert. In case of allergies or intolerances, the kitchen can of course take this into account.

Each child brings their own breakfast and afternoon snack from home. A small snack, a yoghurt, some fruits,...

On the last Thursday of every month, there is a colorful buffet for all children in each group. Everyone is allowed to bring a small item and a buffet is prepared for all the children. This is a great opportunity for the children to get to know new things and spend time together in a special setting.

Basics

At the center of our educational work is the child with all its needs, characteristics, abilities, skills, interests, experiences, strengths and weaknesses.

Every child is their own sensitive personality with an individual life situation. We support them in developing self-confidence, building up their self-esteem and growing into an independent and responsible personality.

Every child has their own pace of development. Learning takes place according to its own inner blueprint in “sensitive phases”, i.e. when the child is open to it. The staff at our Kinderest support the child during its development process by observing it closely and creating a prepared environment, responding to its individual needs in a situation-oriented manner, offering specifically planned learning experiences (holistic support) and giving it enough time to develop independently and in interaction with other children. This happens during free play and free work, because children are curious, thirsty for knowledge and enthusiastic.

In our everyday life, we always pay attention to a loving, appreciative and respectful approach to each individual child and to the children themselves. Children learn actively and develop positively when they feel safe and secure.

Overview

Children aged 6 months to 3 years of all nationalities, cultures and religions are welcome at our Kinderest Anny Frank. As a non-denominational institution, we teach the generally recognized values of tolerance, solidarity, freedom, equality and justice in accordance with our mission statement.

Description and Stations

Easy to reach us!

Our Kinderest Anny Frank is located on the grounds of the Klinikum am Europakanal. When you come to us, drive straight through the gate and then turn left. You will see our building at the end of the street. We have our own parking spaces for parents to drop off or pick up their children.

You can also reach us easily by bus (line 289) or by bike directly at the Europakanal
