Introduction/specifics
The HoLiSt inclusive daycare center looks after children of primary school age from grades 1 to 4. The Hort HoList has an open concept for 100 after-school care places. Special features: The after-school care center takes part in the “cooperative all-day education” model project. The after-school care center is one of the three cooperation partners for cooperative all-day education. Furthermore, consisting of the cooperation partner of the Michael Poeschke School, as well as its direct cooperation partner for the all-day classes, the adult education center of the city of Erlangen. All three facility partners should continue to develop into a joint educational facility that will serve as a living and educational space for both the students in the after-school care center and the students in the all-day classes.
As part of the cooperation with Lebenshilfe Erlangen e.V., we work with the partner classes of the Georg-Zahn-Schule. In the tried and tested concept that has been successfully implemented at the Michael Poeschke School since 2017, the HoLiSt after-school care center offers inclusion places. Through the partner class model, the school makes an important contribution to inclusion. The students in both classes sometimes have shared teaching units, and both classes benefit greatly from this shared work approach. Due to the spatial proximity, there is close cooperation between the after-school care center and the elementary school. Activities and use of space are coordinated. The term “after-school care center” refers to social-educational facilities that are housed directly in school buildings. In its function it is to be seen as a family-complementing and family-supporting institution. The work in the after-school care center takes place under the following aspects: care, education and upbringing.
The focus of educational after-school care is on the areas of leisure activities and homework supervision. As part of homework support, a holistic but also differentiated support approach should be implemented. Main idea: Help for self-help. In educational leisure activities, the focus is on art and culture, natural sciences, sport and experiential education. The development of age-appropriate social skills and finding one's way in the socio-cultural environment are of fundamental importance to us. During the holidays, a varied holiday program is offered inside and outside the facility.
